A well-funded, mission-driven fintech company is seeking senior software engineers with applied Clojure experience to expand their remote-first engineering team. The company is focused on scaling its digital lending platform, helping borrowers reduce debt, and has refinanced over $6B in loans to date. They are actively hiring ~10 engineers over the next 6–12 months.

Role: Software Engineer (Clojure) - LATAM
Tech Stack: Clojure (primary), ClojureScript or other front-end technologies (secondary, open to React, JS frameworks), Clojure REPL and Idiomatic Clojure
Location: Fully remote; LATAM candidates only

What They’ll Do
Build and maintain clean, well-tested APIs in Clojure.
Contribute to scalable, production-grade systems in a lending platform.
Participate actively in a fully remote, collaborative environment.
Take ownership of their work and mentor others when possible.
Provide direct, constructive feedback on PRs.
Leverage AI tools to increase productivity.
What We’re Looking For
At least 5 years of total software engineering experience (does not need to be 5 years of Clojure experience)
Practical, hands-on Clojure experience (not just coursework; building in production environments)
Strong grasp of functional programming concepts (Elixir, Scala, Haskell, or Lisp experience can be relevant if combined with applied Clojure exposure)
English proficiency (can understand with ease virtually everything heard or read)
Comfort with start-up pace and culture; high sense of ownership and accountability
Open communicator who values feedback and collaborative problem-solving
A genuine interest in working for a mission-driven company helping reduce financial burdens for everyday people
